Terms of Service

These terms govern your use of evventsafrica.com and the associated organizer dashboard and ticket-purchase widget (together, the “Service”), operated by Events Africa. By creating an account, buying a ticket, or listing an event, you agree to these terms.

What the Service is

Events Africa is a marketplace connecting event organizers with attendees across Ghana. Organizers list events and sell tickets through us; attendees discover events and buy tickets. We are not the organizer of any event listed on the Service unless explicitly stated — organizers are solely responsible for the events they create.

Accounts

You’re responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for all activity under your account. You must provide accurate registration information, and you must be able to enter into a binding contract to use the Service.

If you’re an organizer

• You’re responsible for the accuracy of your event listings, and for actually delivering the event as described.
• You must set a refund policy for your event and honor it. Refund requests are reviewed on a case-by-case basis; approved refunds are processed back through Paystack.
• We charge a platform commission on ticket sales (currently 5%, though this may change with notice), deducted before payout. Payouts are made to the bank account or mobile money number you verify with us via Paystack.
• You’re responsible for any tax obligations arising from your ticket sales.
• You must not list events that are illegal, fraudulent, or that infringe someone else’s rights.

If you’re buying a ticket

When you complete checkout, you’re entering into a purchase with the event’s organizer, facilitated by us. Refunds are subject to the individual organizer’s policy for that event — contact the organizer first for any refund request. Tickets are issued as a QR code and, for select events, a human-readable check-in code; both are personal to your order and shouldn’t be resold or shared publicly.

Payments

All payments are processed by Paystack. We don’t store your card, bank, or mobile money credentials. By making a payment, you also agree to Paystack’s own terms of service.

Prohibited conduct

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose, or to defraud organizers or attendees.
• Attempt to circumvent our fees by transacting off-platform after connecting on it.
• Interfere with or disrupt the Service, or attempt to access accounts that aren’t yours.
• Scrape, resell, or misuse data obtained through the Service.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided “as is”. We don’t guarantee that events listed will occur as described, and we’re not liable for an organizer’s failure to deliver an event or honor a refund. To the fullest extent permitted by law, our liability to you for any claim arising from your use of the Service is limited to the amount of fees we received in connection with that transaction.

Termination

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms, engage in fraud, or pose a risk to other users. You can close your account at any time by contacting us.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of Ghana.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
