Privacy Policy
Last updated: 26 July 2026
Events Africa (“we”, “us”, “our”) operates evventsafrica.com and the associated organizer dashboard and ticket-purchase widget (together, the “Service”). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
Account information. When you register, sign in with Google, or complete an organizer profile, we collect your name, email address, phone number, and — if you sign in with Google — your profile photo. A password is only stored if you register directly; accounts created via Google never have one on our side.
Order and attendee information. When you buy a ticket, we collect the attendee’s name, email, and phone number, along with the order and ticket details needed to issue and check in tickets.
Payment information. Payments are processed by Paystack. We never receive or store your card, bank, or mobile money credentials — Paystack handles that directly and shares back only the transaction result and reference we need to confirm your order.
Technical and usage information. We use Sentry for error monitoring and performance tracing, which automatically collects device, browser, and request information when something goes wrong, and records a sample of sessions (with sensitive form fields masked) to help us reproduce bugs.
How we use this information
- To create and secure your account, and authenticate you when you sign in.
- To process ticket orders, issue tickets, and send order confirmations.
- To let event organizers check attendees in at the door and communicate with attendees of their own events.
- To pay out organizers and venue owners for ticket sales, via Paystack.
- To send transactional SMS and email — receipts, tickets, and account notices.
- To detect, diagnose, and fix bugs and outages.
- To comply with our legal and tax obligations.
Who we share information with
We share the minimum information necessary with the following processors:
- Paystack — payment processing and organizer payouts.
- Google— if you choose “Continue with Google”, for authentication.
- Hubtel — to deliver SMS notifications (tickets, check-in codes) to Ghanaian phone numbers.
- Sentry — error monitoring, as described above.
- Cloudflare — hosting for uploaded images and generated ticket PDFs.
An event’s organizer can see the name, email, and phone number of attendees who bought tickets to their ownevents, and check-in staff they’ve invited can see the same, scoped to that event only. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
Cookies and session data
We use a single, essential, httpOnly session cookie to keep you signed in. It isn’t used for advertising or cross-site tracking, and it isn’t accessible to page scripts. We don’t use third-party advertising cookies.
Data retention
We keep account and order data for as long as your account is active, and for as long afterward as needed to meet our tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution obligations. You can ask us to delete your account at any time — see “Your rights” below.
Your rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to export it, by emailing us at the address below. We’ll respond within a reasonable time, and may need to verify your identity first.
Children’s privacy
The Service is not directed at children under 16, and we don’t knowingly collect information from them.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we’ll update the date at the top of this page.
